What is a SANAD Center?

SANAD (Self-Employment and National Autonomous Development) Services Center is a small enterprise owned by Omani to provide an electronic service for the public.

What is procedure to open a new sanad office?

The procedure to apply for SANAD starts with submitting application form to Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development. The application will be reviewed by Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and a personal interview will be scheduled. After the personal interview, Initial approval will be done and then the owner can start the process to implement an office according to the specifications and requirements. After the implementation, owner has to obtain the final approval from Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the license.

Will there any license provided for SANAD Office? What will be the expiry period of license?

Yes; There will be a license for each SANAD office and it will be valid for one year. The owner has to renew it annually.

Is transferring SANAD office possible? What is the procedure?

Yes, SANAD license can be transferred to another person who meet the SANAD license requirement. The procedure starts with submit application to Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development to transfer the license. Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development conducts personal interview and based on the result, the application will be approved. After initial approval, the owner has to implement the necessary to comply the requirements. After the implementation, owner has to obtain the final approval from Authority of Small and Medium Enterprise Development and the license.

What is the minimum requirement to open a SANAD center?

  • An Omani national, or an Omani company where number of partners does not exceed (4) Omanis.
  • Owner Age between 18 and 55 years old.
  • Not be employed in the public nor the private sector.
  • He / She should be completely available to manage the project.
  • To abide not to employ expatriate work force in the center.
  • He / She should not have any valid labor permits for expatriate workforce in any other commercial activities, whether as an individual merchant or as a partner in any commercial organization nor to have any legal relationship with that organization.
  • He / She should have a minimum of General Education Diploma or an equivalent certificate; The Chairman of the committee may exempt an applicant from this requirement, on the condition that the applicant has work experience in the same field or similar field of at least (3) years.
  • To pass the Personal Interview

What is the technical pre-requisite for accessing the application.

  • A computer with genuine version of windows operating System (Windows 7 and above) with latest updates
  • Internet connection
